About the LAWFF Program

The Leading African Women in Food Fellowship is more than just a fellowship—it’s a movement to empower women leaders across Africa’s food ecosystem. Over a six-month period, selected fellows receive:

  • Comprehensive Training & Mentorship: Gain essential skills and insights to enhance their work.
  • A Supportive Community: Join a network of like-minded change-makers to foster collaboration and connection.
  • Global Visibility: Showcase their achievements on a prestigious platform.

LAWFF aligns with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by promoting gender equality, reducing poverty, and fostering sustainable economic growth in Africa.

Fellowship Categories

Nominees can belong to one or more of the following categories:

  • Top Chefs in Africa: Creative culinary artists redefining African cuisine.
  • Disruptors: Innovators solving critical challenges with tools, technologies, and groundbreaking ideas.
  • Trailblazers: Visionaries making monumental contributions to Africa’s food ecosystem.
  • Ecosystem Enablers: Leaders scaling innovative solutions for a more inclusive and sustainable food system.
  • Food/Beverage Narrative Changers: Storytellers and digital creators amplifying positive narratives about African food and beverages.

Who is Eligible?

To qualify for the 2025 LAWFF cohort, nominees must:

  • Be women aged 25-40.
  • Have at least three years of experience in the agri-food sector.
  • Be citizens and residents of an African country at the time of nomination.
  • Demonstrate measurable impact in their field.
