About the Fellowship
This fellowship provides hands-on, client-facing experience in compliance, privacy and cybersecurity litigation, and breach response. Fellows will collaborate with nationally recognized privacy attorneys—including the author of a seminal data breach guide—and award-winning class action litigation practitioners.
Fellows will work on complex privacy and cybersecurity matters for major corporations from the firm’s Chicago office, gaining real-world experience at an AmLaw 50 firm.
Program Highlights
During the fellowship, participants will:
- Assist Sheppard Mullin partners on cutting-edge privacy and cybersecurity issues.
- Conduct legal research, draft memos, and create thought leadership content, such as blog posts and presentations.
- Participate in client meetings and contribute to privacy-related client projects.
Upon completing the program in December 2026, fellows will emerge with invaluable experience and a strong foundation for a successful career in privacy and cybersecurity law.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must:
- Graduate from law school by June 2025.
- Pass the Illinois Bar Exam by October 2025.
- Demonstrate a proven interest in privacy and cybersecurity law through their cover letter.
