Since its inception in 1982, the programme has hosted over 350 journalists from 47 countries, offering them a unique opportunity to deepen their understanding of journalism’s evolving role in society.
About the Press Fellowship Programme
This is not a traditional course but an opportunity for mid-career journalists to research a self-chosen project aligned with one of these four themes:
- The changing role of media in a networked world.
- Improving the reporting of business, environment, sustainable development, medicine, bio-science, and technology.
- The role of free media in democratic governance.
- The implications of AI for journalism.
As a Press Fellow, you’ll gain access to the social, intellectual, and scholarly resources of the University of Cambridge and work closely with Professor John Naughton, Director of the Programme and co-founder of the Minderoo Centre for Technology and Democracy.
What Does the Fellowship Cover?
The Derek Ingram Press Fellowship provides:
- Full coverage of fees, living, travel, and project-related expenses during the programme.
- Reimbursement of visa application costs and travel within the UK.
- Accommodation and full dining rights at Wolfson College.
